SPEAKING FROM EXPERIENCE// Typography

This is a list of the best typography based websites I could find to help next years first years get started.

TYPOGRAPHICA:
typographica.org/
Typographicia is an encyclopedia for new typography. From 2007 to the present it has collected a vast catalogue of typefaces with reviews and examples of the typefaces in action as well as book reviews and commentary.

TYPOGRAPHY SERVED:
typographyserved.com/
This site is an offshoot of the behance network focusing on all submissions about typography. As a result this is a brilliant place to find typography based inspiration.

TYPOPHILE:
typophile.com/
This site is a great resource for knowledge of typography. It has a forum for questions, a blog for inspiration and a ‘typowiki’ for general knowledge.

LOST TYPE:
losttype.com/
Losttype is a ‘pay as much as you can’ typeface library. This means that you can get the fonts for free or donate a little money to the site. There is a good number of tastefully decorative fonts here.

I LOVE TYPOGRAPHY:
ilovetypography.com/
Ilovetypography is a website that was started by a man with a passion for typography. The site has a shop as well as a fonts of the month section and the famous ‘font game’. It is aimed at spreading the beauty of typography to a wider audience of people.

FONTEX:
fontex.org/
Another brilliant typeface library with a selection of good quality free fonts as well as premium fonts that you would have to pay for.

TYPOGRAPHY DAILY:
typography-daily.com/
Typography daily is a fantastic blog posting inspirational design with a heavy focus on type. This could be type featuring on a nice poster all the way to a window display or airline livery.

DAFONT:
dafont.com/
Dafont is a massive online resource where you can download thousands of free typefaces. Some are very good but many are rubbish.
